This Friday we’re going to do something different. It’s the end of the week, and you deserve to have the perfect weekend. I find that I usually have tons of plans for the weekend but hardly ever get to checking them all of the list. A time that’s supposed to be restorative sometimes ends up being a bit stressful! By the time Monday comes around, I often think to myself that I need another break to recharge from the weekend. Do you hear me on that one?!
So here it is, the complete YogaBabe guide to a perfect weekend, in four simple steps.
Step 1: Restore Yourself
Make sure to have some time to yourself on the weekend. For example, get up semi-early on Saturday morning, make yourself a simple breakfast (green smoothie?) and either catch up on your favorite blogs or read a couple chapters in a book you’ve been meaning to check out. You can even take this time to go to a new yoga class or take a nice, leisurely walk around town. Head to a farmer’s market and buy yourself some fresh flowers or take a bubble bath. Just make sure that this time is just for you to be relaxed and not stressed out about everything that has to get done. All that matters right now is this moment. Do whatever it is that makes you feel good.
Step 2: Connect with your ‘Omies
As important as it is to find space for yourself it’s equally important to connect with your friends and loved ones (AKA OMies!). Go on a date with your honey on Friday. Give him three options, and have him decide–this always works for Andy and me. If you’re single, call up your girlfriends and make a date! Or hey, why not ask the guy out you’ve been mad crushin’ on for a while?! You’re a confident YogaBabe, go for it
Take the time to dress nice, do your hair, and feel pretty – it’s amazing the difference you’ll feel from just this step alone!
Step 3: Get Educated
Take time during the weekend to do educate yourself on something that has nothing to do with your career. Go to a museum, read a new book, or watch a NetFlix documentary. Even take the time to read a self-improvement book, they sound silly but often are great resources. My current favorite is The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. This will help you feel balanced, inspired, and renewed.
Step 4: Go Wild!
Girl, you’ve been working so hard, you deserve to have some fun! Life isn’t complete without a little adventure, right!? Plan on doing something that you wouldn’t ordinarily do. Say YES if a friend asks you to go out dancing or plan a mini road trip to a town you’ve never been to and explore it! Do something wild, shake up your regular routine, and you’ll be sure to feel refreshed!
So, what will you be doing this weekend?! I can’t wait to hear how you integrate these fun steps into your weekend plans. Let me know in the comments!
Lots of love,
